This Is How October

November 1, 2014

This is how October

Takes you, breathless by the arms

Under the moon

You are walking at night

Before catching a train

And it’s a ripe moon full

Walk that makes you smile

When you gaze at the sky

Leaves scattered in the gutter

Careless gold and brown,

‘fluttering, still in trees,

Waiting, waiting for their spin

A night like this is how

October fills you up

With autumn joy and longing

For the time to never end.

October days run on and on

And the nights are dancing through

Whisper, goes the windy evening

And the train rolls by again
